The Almaguin Spartans are happy to announce the addition of 2004 Forward Kirk Watson from the Howard S. Billings Blazers Program in Chateauguay, Quebec.
Spartans General Manager David Forde had this to say about the addition of Watson “I’m really happy to be adding another good young player to our program. Kirk is hard working forward, that skates well, creates offensive off the fore check, plays with intensity and loves to play physical. He’s the type of player you love to have on your team and hate to play against. Kirk has a lot of potential and we feel in our program he’s going to flourish, with the amount we train, his work ethic and his coachability.
Kirk comes to our program from the Billings Blazers, so I know he has received good coaching the past 2 years from Scott Colosimo (Billings Head Coach/Concordia Stingers U Sports Assistant Coach). We also know that from playing at Billings and under Scott, that Kirk is going to be a great fit off the ice for our program, which is just as an important to us. Having had 3 meetings with Kirk and his parents, I know that he comes from a great family and has the character traits we want in our players.
I’m really looking forward to seeing Kirk develop this year and I think our fans are really going to like his style of play.”
